who lend their valuable time and feedback to making the Duke
Digital Initiative successful.
About DDI
The Duke Digital Initiative (DDI) is a multi-year program of
experimentation, development and implementation of new and emerging
technologies to explore their effective use in support of the
university's mission.
The goals of DDI are to promote innovative and effective teaching,
to use technology in support of curriculum enhancement, to develop
our technology infrastructure and to share knowledge about
effective instructional technology strategies.
CIT staff have provided project management, consulting, training
and technical assistance to faculty participating in DDI
programs.

About Ning

As part of DDI's current programs of exploring new ways to use
digital media, we are incorporating our own website into the
experimentNing is a company that offers a media rich template to
build websites to exchange audio, video and photos as well as ideas
through groups, forums and blogs. It can be used straight out of
the box, or it can be highly customized through CSS and source code
editing. It is only available through hosting on their servers. The
service is free and ad supported or you can (as we did) pay a
minimal monthly fee to eliminate the ads and use your own URL. For
more information, contact
Stephen Toback in OIT's
Digital Media Solutions group.
